The first natural gas-powered bus for the Ica region was presented in Pisco by Contugas and the Camisea Consortium (operated by Pluspetrol), as part of the incentive program for the acquisition of new vehicles for cargo and passenger transportation companies.
During the ceremony it was explained that the program will finance 30% to 50% of the value of the new vehicles. In addition, benefited companies will have 3 to 5 years to return the total amount without interest.
This financing program is part of the initiatives undertaken by the Camisea Consortium for the widespread adoption of natural gas in Peru and is added to the “Eco Motor GNV” that provides interest-free financing for the change from diesel engines to CNG, and the “Bono Camisea GNV” that grants between USD 10,000 and USD 15,000 for the purchase of transport vehicles.
Likewise, the Consortium continues its promotion of the “Gas al Cusco” project, which will add a new CNG station and the expansion of the two existing ones in that region; as well as new incentives for the conversion of more cars and buses to natural gas.
