The YPF Operators Association, which promoted the approval of the “NGV1 device” for fast refueling of CNG in heavy vehicles by all means, valued the approval of the measure after “incessant management”.
After resolution 301/2022 was published on August 5, the repercussions on its officialization were immediate. The YPF Operators Association, through its Gas commission, promoter of the measure, welcomed the result obtained and considered it an advance for the future growth of the NGV market in heavy vehicles.
“The efforts were incessant, we used all the ways within our reach, the ENARGAS Suppliers Commission worked very actively and there was even support from YPF for the resolution, in addition, logically, to the transport companies interested in using this fuel,” they highlighted.
Giselle Vázquez, head of the AOYPF Gas Commission, emphasized the work carried out and the predisposition of ENARGAS. “The joint work of the chambers and the support of the different sectors was vital. This has to serve as a precedent for future measures that promote the gas market in Argentina. Many times “small” decisions help “big” progress, and this is the case. But there are other measures that are under study and we hope that they will soon be resolved favorably. The growth of CNG for vehicles is a joint task of the regulatory body together with all the interested parties, and we must continue working along these lines,” she explained.
In this sense, according to the AOYPF, it is also necessary to modify the maximum lengths allowed for vehicles that refuel CNG, authorize partial modifications to the existing facilities in the service stations to incorporate dual islands of diesel with CNG (which would allow to quickly have an infrastructure to serve fleets) and, in addition, enable specialized workshops to add kits for heavy vehicles, among others.
