The Peruvian Association of Natural Gas and Alternative Fuels (APGNCA) was recently established in Lima, Peru, with the objective of representing at the national level the interests of stakeholders in the promotion and commercialization of the use of natural gas and other alternative fuels, from production, transport (road, rail and maritime) and efficient adoption in all economic and social sectors of the country.
The APGNCA was born due to the great opportunity for the industry to once again unite voices and forces to promote the role of natural gas and alternative fuels with a solid common narrative. It will be a new platform for sharing best practices, as well as regulatory and technical exchange that can serve as a common ground to further promote the industry and engage at the right level with other stakeholders and policy makers in the global gas industry.
The new association will seek to establish and permanently review the strategic development objectives of each type of fuel, based on their availability, competitiveness and efficiency, as well as to promote the development and national harmonization of technical standards and certifications for quality and safety of products for the use of natural gas (CNG and LNG), biomethane and hydrogen (also blends) in transportation and industry.
In addition, it will provide representation before national and international institutions, authorities, standardization organizations for cooperation and the development of working groups on pertinent standardization issues. It will also promote communication related to the scope of the association, through participation in relevant national and international activities, such as conferences, workshops, technical committees, working groups and coordination groups.
Its creation process was directly supported by the WGMC (WORLD GAS MOBILITY COUNCIL) and by AltFuels Communications Group (founding partner of the former Peruvian Chamber of NGV together with Pluspetrol, with more than 35 years of experience in communications, fairs and congresses on alternative fuels).
It is important to mention that the APGNCA will host and co-organize AltFuels Peru 2023, event where it will be officially launched and that will take place on 19-22 April at Villa Complejo Ferial, Lima. It will include top-level conferences with more than 70 speakers, leaders and experts in the natural gas and sustainable mobility industry, who will provide their extensive knowledge and experience to address the different energy scenarios of the region and the world.
Moreover, the exhibition will have the participation of more than 120 companies that will showcase their latest generation products and services, linked to CNG, LNG, biogas/biomethane and hydrogen, including vehicles of all kinds, refueling stations and equipment, components, and land and marine engines, among others.
The event will also seek to explore and strengthen economic ties between key decision-makers in the public and private sectors, promoting multiple networking options and high-level business meetings.
Organized by AltFuels Communications Group, AltFuels Peru 2023 has the support of WGMC, NGV Italy, AMGNV (Mexican NGV Association), ABiogás (Brazilian Biogas Association), AESSGAN (Small Scale Natural Gas Business Association) and the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru.
