The Executing Entity for the Conversion to Natural Gas for Vehicles (EEC-GNV) reported that, until September 7, 2022, 10,000 public and private transport vehicles in the country were converted to natural gas free of charge, promoting economic reactivation in the sector. With this result, the General Director of the EEC-GNV Karina Villacorta Murguía ratifies the commitment that the institution has through the benefits that the conversion to CNG grants to Bolivian motor transport.
“The Executing Entity for the Conversion to Natural Gas for Vehicles contributes to the reactivation of the economy of the Bolivian people, particularly in motor transport, since the beneficiaries save on fuel consumption. CNG is 60% cheaper than gasoline, in addition to being less polluting,” said Villacorta.
Arturo Aro Alanoca, from the city of El Alto, is the 10,000th user of the 2022 administration, and expressed his satisfaction with the technology used in his car. “The conversion of my vehicle was with 5th generation equipment, there is no difference when it was only gasoline since the power is the same; this change is a great advantage for the care of my source of income. In the first days of use I already noticed that I can save more, for that I thank the Government and the EEC-GNV and I ask them to continue forward,” said Aro.
For his part, the Head of the EEC-GNV Operating Unit Pavel Salinas highlighted the qualities of the Sequential Injection kits (5th generation) implemented since May 2022, as an achievement of the institution at the service of transport, providing care and maintaining the power of the vehicles converted with this technology.
“These conversion kits are calibrated by means of a computer, which allows the supply of CNG to the engine to be carried out automatically based on the power requirement of the vehicle, which is advantageous because the exact amount of fuel is injected,” Salinas specified.
In relation to the Cylinder Requalification and Replacement Program, 20,953 vehicles benefited from these services until September 7, 2022. “The five-yearly requalification of the cylinder or cylinders of vehicles that use CNG is the responsibility of all drivers, to guarantee that passenger transport is safe. Through the EEC-GNV this service is free,” Salinas added.
