Dourogás announced that it already supplies natural gas to the bus fleet of TST (Transportes Sul do Tejo). As of July 1, this Arriva Group company began providing public passenger transport services in the municipalities of Almada, Seixal and Sesimbra, in the Lisbon region.
In the process of renewing its fleet, TST acquired 17 new IVECO Crossway buses powered by natural gas, which are supplied daily at the Dourogás CNG Post in Palmela. The use of these vehicles replacing others powered by conventional fuels will prevent the emission of some 2,500 tons of CO2.
These CNG buses will be able, without the need for adaptation, to refuel with biomethane in the future, guaranteeing the carbon neutrality of the fleet.
João Filipe Jesus, General Manager of Dourogás GNV, and Paulo Pires, General Manager of Arriva Group in Portugal and chairman of the Board of Directors of TST, highlighted the importance of this association in the area of the decarbonization strategy of both companies, aligned with national objectives for the sector.
