With the aim of expanding its portfolio of services and accelerating the energy transition towards a more sustainable mobility, Renault-Sofasa offers the NGV option within its portfolio of transformations to provide its customers with products that reduce emissions and adapt to the specific needs of each of them. Both the range of Renault utility vehicles made up of the Kangoo, Oroch, Trafic and Master, as well as the range of passenger vehicles with the Kwid, Sandero, Logan, Stepway, Duster and Captur, offer the possibility of being converted to CNG, with direct injection technology, without losing the OEM warranty.
“For 10 years Renault-Sofasa has been developing a portfolio of services and transformations to improve mobility with the country’s sustainability in mind. CNG is a product synonymous with guarantee and that is why we want to bet on its development, uniting our good practices and the progress of our technology to present an innovative product in these segments,” said Ariel Montenegro, CEO of Renault-Sofasa.
The CNG conversion protocols that have been carried out for 10 years and to date made it possible to highlight that the guarantee return rate was 0% due to the high standards in which each of the company’s suppliers carried out the conversions of more than 300 vehicles in 2022.
Until now, the company has converted more than 10,000 vehicles, both zero kilometer units and units with up to 9,999 km traveled, in its more than 20 authorized workshops nationwide, located in Medellín, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Santa Marta, Cali, Armenia, Manizales, Pereira, Villavicencio, Bogotá, Ibagué, Valledupar and Bucaramanga.
Renault-Sofasa has also implemented natural gas to go hand in hand with the different district government policies. In addition to the environmental benefit, the client will also be able to obtain circulation benefits, since in some areas NGVs are exempt from measures such as the Pico and Placa, according to the different municipalities and the traffic policies that accompany national legislation.
Moreover, under the different agreements with distributors at the national level, the client can apply to the different bonds or financing mechanisms that are available in the NGV industry.
Also, from the beginning of the purchase cycle, customers will be able to evaluate and carry out a test drives in the Renault’s allied dealer and workshop network in order to make the decision to install the CNG kit. Vehicles up to 9,999 km will be able to carry out this transformation without losing the initial warranty granted by the manufacturer of two years or 50,000 km, whichever comes first.
