As Official Partner of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship for the 2023 season, IVECO is supporting the European Truck Racing Association (ETRA) for the third year in a row on its path to net zero target by 2038 with its IVECO S-Way LNG, the first ever Pace Truck with alternative traction in the FIA-ETRC.
The IVECO S-Way LNG, undisputed natural gas leader for sustainable long-distance haulage and built to achieve a significant reduction in fuel consumption and pollution, will be joined on the tracks by a unique Show Truck: the IVECO eTruck in race version: a prototype race truck developed by Team Hahn Racing with the technical support of IVECO engineering and the key contribution of IVECO Design Centre for the cab design.
The IVECO S-Way LNG Pace Truck is powered by bio-LNG stored in two 540-litre tanks that hold at least 390kg of liquid bio-LNG, providing autonomy of up to 1,600 kilometers without refueling. It generates considerably lower nitrogen oxide and particulate matter emissions compared to its diesel equivalents, reducing CO2 emissions by up to 95% when biomethane is used.
The vehicle will bear a specially designed livery and showcase custom features such as two yellow rotating beacons, a light bar with LED headlights, an illuminated three-piece bull bar and LED flashers required by FIA-ETRA technical regulations.
