Reinforcing the brand’s presence in Latin America IVECO BUS, a brand belonging to the Iveco Group, participated in LAT.BUS 2022 with a range of mobility products and solutions, with an emphasis on vehicles powered by alternative energies and services developed to maximize results in passenger transport operations.
The fair was held in the city of São Paulo (Brazil) and is the largest event in the sector in Latin America, presenting itself as the prelude to what will be Busworld Latin America Buenos Aires 2023.
The objective of the brand in LAT.BUS, according to Marcio Querichelli, President of IVECO for Latin America, is to highlight innovation and technology as strong points to consolidate the presence of IVECO BUS in the Latin American market, carrying out a true “revolution” in the passenger transport segment. “In Europe we have approximately 1/4 of the total market with a complete line that stands out for the use of alternative fuels. We will use this experience in our region for the benefit of the client,” Querichelli said.
IVECO’s bus division has been achieving very positive results in the region, with a great expansion in markets such as Brazil, Paraguay, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, among others.
In this sense, Danilo Fetzner, Director of IVECO BUS for Latin America, commented that the objective for the coming years is to expand the portfolio of products and services with a focus on customer profitability and the reduction of polluting emissions, especially in the large centers, with vehicles fueled by natural gas and electricity.
“From 2023 we will have a complete Euro VI line, with the new versions of the Daily Minibus 45-160 and 50-180, and two models that already make up large fleets, the 10-190 and 17-280 chassis, which will include new components. In addition, we will launch three major innovations: the 17-210 G chassis powered by CNG, the E-Way -a 100% electric city bus-, and the NEXPRO Connect fleet management platform. These innovations indicate where we intend to go in this market,” added Fetzner.
The 17-210 G bus is equipped with front and rear suspensions with semi-elliptical springs that provide greater strength and durability. Air brakes on both axles provide added safety. It offers 204 CV – 750 Nm, power and torque for 12 meter buses in urban and charter applications. It uses natural gas or biomethane, which provides versatility and economy. It has a set of six gas cylinders (80 liters each) with a total of 100 m3 and a range of 250 km.
