Through the DemoTrucks program, a Scania CNG P280 truck was tested by the Secretary of Public Services of Bariloche for urban cleaning, and presented excellent results. The vehicle, part of the brand’s Green Efficiency Line, was tested for a month in real operating conditions to collect garbage in the Patagonian city. Since tourism is the main economic activity of the city, waste collection is an essential activity that the Municipality must optimize from all factors.
Both the city and Feadar, Scania’s official representative in Patagonia, explained the advantages obtained with vehicles powered by alternative fuels, both in terms of economic savings in operating costs, as well as in terms of reducing polluting emissions.
“The Scania CNG truck left us shocked. It is an outstanding, modern vehicle, which presents improvements to reduce environmental pollution, and significantly reduces noise when operating, which is very important for our city,” said Eduardo Garza, Secretary of Public Services of Bariloche.
“The P280 truck equipped for this service stands out for having a different engine that focuses on saving fuel and caring for the environment. These factors are essential for the Urban Cleaning unit in Bariloche, and we seek to provide the best solution adapted to the needs of the client,” explained Javier Ortiz, Head of Sales at Feadar.
DemoTrucks is Scania Argentina’s program for carriers to see, first-hand, the benefits of the brand’s trucks. It includes a fleet of vehicles with different configurations, which are loaned to clients or potential clients to be used in their daily operations.
