OG Clean Fuels has acquired the renewable natural gas stations from the current Swedish owner FordonsGas. This acquisition enables OG to strengthen its market position and expand on its growing network of fossil-free filling stations in Europe.
The procurement of FordonsGas’ locations means that 41 biomethane stations will be added to OG Clean Fuels current offering. The agreement includes fixed assets consisting of 36 bio-CNG and five bio-LNG stations. Adding this to its nine already existing locations in Sweden, OG has now secured its position as one of the top 3 market leaders in this country, and will be able to largely expand on its current offering in environmentally friendly fuel alternatives for both heavy and light vehicles from the south of the country all the way up to Stockholm.
“We are committed to contributing to a cleaner world, and this expansion is another milestone achieved on that journey. The acquisition allows us to hugely grow our presence in Sweden and offer clean fuels to a larger demographic. Going forward, we have many more exciting projects to come both in Sweden and Europe in general, and will continue to heavily invest in bio-CNG, bio-LNG, hydrogen, HVO100 and EVs,” said founder & CEO of OG Marcel Borger.
OG Clean Fuels was founded in 2008 and its fuels are 100% clean-produced and green-financed. The brand mostly produces clean fuels themselves and has many ongoing projects with external partners as well.
In addition to the expansion in Sweden, OG continuously works on growing their network and currently has over 250 sustainable refueling locations across Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
In Sweden, OG has secured national support (Klimatklivet) to realize the development of multi-fuel stations, so called ‘Dream Stations’ that will offer a combination of at least three clean fuels.
