In partnership with Perú Bus Internacional, a Grupo Polo company that operates the Yellow Corridor concession with 74 CNG-powered buses, Cálidda launched the first private natural gas station. The facility is located in the San Martín de Porres district and its development represents a milestone for the supply of public transport buses.
With this new refueling point, which involved an investment of US$ 1 million and that features IMW equipment, the Lima and Callao gas distribution company will be able to quickly and efficiently supply the modern Perú Bus fleet, which benefits more than 21,000 passengers daily with a sustainable means of transport.
“With an investment of approximately US$ 1 million, Cálidda built this CNG station, which projects an estimated consumption of 2.4 million cubic meters per year. This project has been possible thanks to the alliance and solid relationship with Grupo Polo, a company that constantly seeks to improve its operational efficiency and be a benchmark in urban mobility in the country,” said Martín Mejía del Carpio, General Director of Cálidda.
Grupo Polo began its process of changing its energy matrix from diesel to natural gas 10 years ago, a decision that has allowed them to reduce their fuel costs by more than 50%. The vehicles of Perú Bus Internacional are manufactured exclusively for the use of CNG, maintaining and improving their efficiency and operability.
In this very promising scenario in terms of the growing adoption of natural gas, AltFuels Peru 2023 will be held from April 19 to 22, at Villa Complejo Ferial, in the city of Lima.
