President Jair Bolsonaro, through the Minister of Agriculture Tereza Cristina, learned first-hand about the innovative and sustainable project of Nutribras Alimentos, which uses renewable natural gas as fuel for the first truck powered by biomethane from a pig farm in Brazil.
At Nutribras, since 2001, pig farms have been using biodigesters to generate energy and treat organic waste, transforming environmental liabilities into two powerful environmental assets: biogas that generates electricity and biofertilizer that serves as organic fertilizer for soybean crops and corn, which are the mainstays of the diet of their entire herd.
Thus, a self-sustaining cycle is created, eliminating the negative effects of gas emissions into the atmosphere.
From this moment on, another stage of biogas treatment is carried out which, after going through a new purification process, is transformed into biomethane, a green fuel that will have the capacity to replace CNG.
Sustainability is in the DNA of Nutribras Alimentos, the result of extensive study, technological progress and the commitment of the entire company team to produce food sustainably without compromising the future of future generations.
