Scania Argentina delivered the first CNG truck to Río de las Vueltas, transportation and distribution company, which will use the vehicle to carry out its operations for Cervecería y Maltería Quilmes. It has a range of 500 km and will travel an average of 8,000 km per month between the different Quilmes plants, saving 40% on fuel.
The Scania vehicles, which will be the first powered by CNG in Misiones and will join the Integrated System of Metropolitan Transportation, feature a 9-liter, five-cylinder engine and a power of 280 CV that provides high torque at low revs and ensures lower fuel consumption. In addition to offering reduced CO2 emissions, the noise level emitted is also considerably lower.
London has worked hard to reduce emissions from vehicles entering the city over the years, and so the IVECO S-WAY was the ideal choice for The Lord Mayor’s Show. Running on biomethane, this CNG vehicle provides a reduction in carbon emissions of up to 95% when compared with an equivalent diesel truck.
The four Urbino 12 hydrogen buses will serve the residents of Venice and its surroundings thanks to contracts signed with Italian carriers AVM Venezia and ACTV SPA Venezia. The deliveries of the low-floor vehicles are slated for the end of the second quarter of 2023, and the value of the contracts exceeds €2.5 million.
The machinery and vehicles used by the concessionaires to provide the service must be powered by CNG (ECO) engines or by ZERO emission engines, according to the classification of the Spanish General Directorate of Traffic (DGT). In no case will collection or waste transport trucks that are totally propelled by diesel, biodiesel or ethanol engines be admitted.
Foton Monterrey has delivered 10 12-meter natural gas AUV buses to Grupo Lazcano, an urban transport company that provides services in the state of Nuevo León. The new NGVs are the first units of a total of 50 that Foton will deliver before the end of the year and will be used in the transmetro, the BRT system of Metrorrey.
The first Kenworth truck is already in operation, with an additional six scheduled to arrive later this year. Scania Argentina managed, together with YPF and Copparoni SA, the necessary authorizations so that a CNG-powered truck can operate in the refineries and distribute fuel in YPF service stations. After an extensive process, the Scania G410 6×2 model became the first natural gas vehicle to serve the Hazardous Cargo segment.
This fleet, which includes 30 IVECO LNG-fueled vehicles, is the result of an alliance of Nestlé Chile with Grupo San Gabriel and Lipigas. With this initiative, the company seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout its value chain, as part of the commitment to its sustainable development strategy.
This pilot project will allow Copetran to implement clean energy in its fleets and be a pioneer in the use of new propulsion technologies. The tests, which begin with a CNG bus that will initially cover a private route, will serve to gather important information for the next massive adoption of this green fuel.
