Since 2012, UNICON, a company dedicated to the production of ready-mix concrete, responsible mining and other construction services, began the transition to CNG. Recently, it has decided to expand its fleet of green mixing vehicles with the purchase of new NGVs, increasing its total fleet to more than 150 units that run on clean energy.
The tour will start at the Mittenwalde Shell station in Berlin and will stop at five landmarks of the bio-LNG ecosystem on the route that will touch Germany, the Netherlands and Italy. The Iveco S-Way’s goal is to complete the tour achieving net-zero emissions while delivering an efficient performance.
The Mayor of the city of Neuquén Mariano Gaido, together with the Governor Omar Gutiérrez, presented two new buses that join “COLE”, the city’s public transport system. These are two CNG-powered vehicles, from IVECO and Scania, which will complement the 180 units already circulating in the city.
The four newly arrived standard vehicles are part of the largest CNG bus tender carried out to date by the municipal company, which has incorporated 520 vehicles of this type in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The NGVs that have arrived in Madrid in recent weeks are from the manufacturer Solaris, a modern standard bus with a maximum power of 320 CV and 2,000 rpm.
12 new CNG-powered trucks will serve Chevron’s operations in San Joaquin Valley, California, carrying salt used to process water for steam generation. The new vehicles are owned and operated by Mashburn Transportation. This family- and woman-owned company has provided hauling services for Chevron for at least a decade.
Blue Energy Motors announced that Container Corporation of India Ltd. has placed the country’s largest green truck order. Under this agreement, Blue Energy Motors will supply 100 LNG trucks. “This groundbreaking partnership symbolizes the pivotal role that Blue Energy Motors will play in propelling the Green Trucking Movement across the nation,” they said.
LADWP has acquired eight new natural gas-powered aerial boom trucks to aid in tree trimming operations. The purchase was made possible through a $240,000 state grant from the MSRC. By replacing older diesel trucks with alternative fuel vehicles, LADWP aims to reduce air emissions and improve the quality of life for citizens of Los Angeles.
Frode Laursen, international transport and logistics company focused on FMCG, building materials, recycling and dangerous goods, and Ragn-Sells, expert in sustainable waste management, have together managed to reduce their respective carbon footprints by introducing biomethane-powered trucks on a regular route.
The company trialed the use of biomethane in a heavy goods vehicle as part of its ongoing drive to reach net zero by 2050. The three week-long trial was carried out in June and July this year at Tarmac’s Tunstead site in partnership with CNG Fuels, and tested the range of a 44 ton truck hauling a bulk cement tanker.
The three CNG-powered vans will work as support vehicles for the waste collection trucks, which are used to collect bags or items left outside the containers or notify streets blocked by improperly parked cars, according to a press release from Emulsa. The operator has a fleet of 291 vehicles, including 32 electric and 19 powered by natural gas.
