Foton Monterrey has delivered 10 12-meter natural gas AUV buses to Grupo Lazcano, an urban transport company that provides services in the state of Nuevo León. The new vehicles are the first units of a total of 50 that Foton will deliver before the end of the year and will be used in the transmetro, the bus rapid transit system of Metrorrey.
This first delivery is the result of the tender made by Metrorrey, where Grupo Lazcano opted for the Chinese brand by making its offer with the buses powered by Cummins CNG engines. These first buses will be used on the new transmetro route that goes from Exposition to Juárez and promise to be comfortable and safe for the user, according to Félix Lazcano Chapa, General Director of Grupo Lazcano.
Ricardo Arias, Deputy General Director of the company, was in charge of supervising the performance and durability tests of the buses during the testing period. He also coordinated the training of Lazcano’s drivers and mechanics with the staff of the Monterrey agency, to optimize the use of the vehicles and their routine maintenance.
Foton CNG buses are 12 meters long, have a low entrance to facilitate access for passengers, as well as a ramp for entry with wheelchairs. In addition, they have a Wi-Fi connection and security systems such as video surveillance and a panic button. The vehicles will also be monitored by Foton Telematics.
