Through its dealer Navicam, IVECO Argentina delivered 23 vehicles to the company SurFrigo. Among the units acquired, three are powered by natural gas: two Stralis CNG 300 AT trucks and one Daily 70C14 CNG van.
“The conversations began at the end of 2022 but we are very happy that it can be completed and that it is the first acquisition of the year. This is a very important delivery, not only because we comply with the client, but also because it is a large-scale operation, with 23 vehicles involved. Our goal for 2023 is to continue on this path, always working to give the best for the carriers,” explained Pablo Princich, Commercial Manager of Iveco in Argentina.
The CNG Stralis, the vehicle most required for this delivery, has a 7.8-liter FPT Industrial Cursor 8 CNG engine with a power of 300 CV and a maximum torque of 1,200Nm, and complies with Euro VI emission regulations.
On the other hand, SurFrigo seeks to convert the entire short-haul distribution fleet to CNG and what better way to do it than with the Daily 70 running on natural gas. It has a 3.0-liter FIC engine with a power of 136 HP and a maximum torque of 350Nm, thus making it a highly competitive engine and the best current alternative to diesel. It also complies with Euro VI emission regulations.
“Since they are CNG-powered trucks, their noise pollution level is lower, particulate matter decreases, and it pollutes less than diesel,” explained Hernán Martínez, SurFrigo Service Manager.
SurFrigo also wants to become an Iveco mono-brand during 2023. “Being a mono-brand allows the customer to unify the spare parts and repairs to be even faster, thus obtaining greater comfort to work without having the truck stopped for several days,” said Lucas Picone, Navicam Sales Manager, about the importance of having a 100% Iveco fleet.
