Turkish bus manufacturer Otokar received orders for a total of 148 vehicles, with a cost of approximately 34.2 million Euros, from two different public transport operators, as part of the framework agreements signed with Italian procurement office Consip in 2021 and 2022.
Deliveries are planned to start in the second half of 2023 and to be completed in batches in the first half of 2024.
Tuscany
58 of the orders will be delivered to the Tuscany region. 28 Doruk buses and 30 Kent CNG buses will serve in the fleet of Autolinee Toscane, the leading transit operator that undertakes all transportation in the Tyrrhenian Sea coastal region.
Puglia
90 Kent natural gas-powered buses will be exported to Puglia, in southern Italy. The vehicles will provide passenger transportation services within the Department of Transport of the Puglia Region (Regione Puglia Dipartimento Mobilita).
Otokar’s 10.8-meter long Kent CNG buses draw attention with their modern interior and exterior appearance, environmentally friendly engine, low floor entrance, high passenger capacity, superior road holding and powerful air conditioning. The vehicle offers maximum safety with ABS, ASR, disc brakes and anti-jamming system on the doors; it also promises high-level comfort in public transportation.
