In 1984, Roberto Scarpa began his journey in the world of transport. Since then, he has continued that path, counting 350 trucks to date, and with the next generation Scarpa in the business.
CST Logistica Trasporti deals with freight transport, in northern and central Italy, with food at room temperature and controlled temperature as a specialty. The constant renewal of their fleet gives greater efficiency and lower environmental impact, the latest addition being Scania natural gas trucks.
Lisa Scarpa is the Integrated Management System Manager at CST Logistica Trasporti in Scorzè. She takes care of the certifications for the company and ensures they fulfil the ratings. “We face a transition to sustainable transport, and with our Scania gas truck, we have our environment in mind,” she said.
In 2017, a decision was made to do an ecological transition and the first 50 vehicles that run on natural gas and biogas were delivered. “Some of our customers have started to request a more environmental-friendly transport, so we are listening to them,” she continued. It is also a way for the company to differentiate itself from the competition.
What CST Logistica Trasporti also does is collaborate with Scania in general, and Scania Finance Italy. “They are a partner we can talk to, that sees our opportunities, allowing us to expand through a relationship built on trust and professionalism. They understand that we want this to grow, and do our part in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” Scarpa added.
And it seems this is barely the beginning. “We started this path, and it is one we will follow. With our transports, we are a part of a chain, where sustainability is definitely the way,” Scarpa concluded.
