Río de las Vueltas received its first CNG-powered vehicle. It is a Scania R410 6×2 from the Green Efficiency line, equipped with a scalable type semi-trailer, which the transportation and distribution company has already successfully tested. The delivery was made through the official dealer Baisur Motor Scania.
Río de las Vueltas, which already has a 99% Scania fleet, will use the new natural gas truck to carry out its operations for Cervecería y Maltería Quilmes. The vehicle has a range of 500 km and travels an average of 8,000 km per month between the different Quilmes plants, saving 40% on fuel.
“We have already verified that this R410 6×2 truck from the Green Efficiency line generates 40% savings in fuel consumption compared to similar diesel units. Our commitment to sustainable transportation and the standards we are working on together with Quilmes mean that we are seriously evaluating incorporating five to 10 more CNG units by 2023,” said Martín Seoane, Río de las Vueltas Purchasing Manager.
Gustavo Schmois, Head of Sales and Marketing at Baisur Motor, commented: “Supporting our customers begins with advice, working with bodybuilders to optimize the unit according to the application, the wide availability of spare parts, the on-site maintenance for trucks, buses, and industrial and marine engines, and maintenance contracts.
