Bonett has opened its 10th CNG filling station in Prague, a public self-service facility with non-stop operation located on Bělohorská St. in Prague’s Vypich. According to statistics from the Czech Gas Association, a total of 30,085 CNG-powered vehicles drove on Czech roads last year, of which 27,895 were passenger cars and vans (these are especially popular with delivery services). The rest are buses.
“The new station shortens the distance for CNG customers. Until now, our nearest stations were located in Stodůlky and Barrandová. This is the tenth Bonett public station in the territory of Prague and at the same time the 52nd in the Czech Republic,” said Václav Holovčák, member of the Board of Directors of the Bonett Group. “We have already invested almost half a billion CZK in the development of NGV mobility and we want to actively continue the development of this sector.”
The company is the largest Czech seller of CNG, and buys almost 100% biomethane for its customers. It has been building the infrastructure of its own refueling facilities since 2006 and currently owns and operates more than a fifth of all natural gas stations in the Czech Republic.
“Today, the costs of running a CNG car are roughly 40% lower than conventional fuels. In addition, natural gas does not contain dust particles, produces less nitrogen and CO2 emissions, and the car’s operation is noticeably quieter. We are also betting on biomethane mobility and intensively looking for other options for the construction of new filling stations,” added Holovčák.
