Rå Biopark, the largest environment project in Northern Norway, and Barents NaturGass have signed a Letter Of Intent for the sale and distribution of biogas. The agreement has a duration of 10 years with options for renewal. The frame is on approximately 1.2 billion NOK. Barents NaturGass will market all the biogas produced in Skibotn.
Barents NaturGass annually transport 2,000 trailer loads of natural gas from Hammerfest to different customers in the north of Norway, Sweden and Finland. In the agreement with Rå Biopark there also lies a cooperation on developing a biomethane station network for trucks in Northern Norway.
“It is a potential to establish truck filling stations at all major logistical hubs and intersections on Northern Norway, we wish to establish dialogue with potential customers and partners that are interested in having a filling station close by,” said Mikael Rikstad Iversen, Sales Manager of Barents NaturGass.
The owners of Rå Biopark are all waste companies that has a clear goal to contribute to a far better energy utilization of food waste and sludge. Through closed systems Rå Biopark will produce bio-LNG equal to more than 5 million liters of diesel per annum.
