New Holland executives visited Las Chilcas farm, located in the north of the Province of Córdoba, to complete the delivery of the first biomethane tractor in Argentina. Las Chilcas will test the NH T6 Methane Power in its field and hopes to obtain a positive balance in reducing the carbon footprint and improving the impact of agricultural production on the environment.
“Executives from New Holland Argentina and Brazil visited Las Chilcas to bring the first biogas tractor to enter the country. We continue to bet on the development of biofuels and renewable energies with fewer emissions, sustainability and a circular economy,” said Mario Aguilar Benitez, Director of Las Chilcas.
The businessman confirmed the news to Agroverdad and indicated that the tractor is currently still in Customs, complying with the rigorous procedures. Upon arrival at the field, it will be subjected to exhaustive performance tests with the biomethane produced in Las Chilcas.
New Holland announced a few months ago that in 2023 it would bring to the country the first units of the T6 Methane Power, the first mass-produced methane-powered tractor in the world. With this model, presented before the pandemic, the company has won several international awards, particularly in the Sustainable Tractor category.
New Holland manufactures the tractor at its industrial plant in Basildon, England. Currently, farmers are testing units in all European markets and, now, other regions of the world are beginning to join, Argentina and, in particular, Córdoba through Las Chilcas.
