Gases de Occidente (GdO) presented 16 buses designed to run only on natural gas that will operate in the city of Cali. These modern vehicles, manufactured by Golden Dragon, have operational and environmental advantages such as 30% less noise and 98% less particulate matter emissions.
In Colombia, the passenger transport segment is divided into: massive, intercity and special. These CNG buses will be used for the special service sector: school, business and tourist transportation, as well as private events and health services. They are identified with a white plate and are type B, that is, they do not allow standing people.
“We are betting on sustainable cities. The entry of these dedicated natural gas vehicles for special transportation is one more step in the energy transition. From the strategic objectives of Promigas and its companies, we are working with renewable energy, energy transition and sustainability. 100% CNG vehicles contribute to reducing emissions, noise and gases that are harmful to the environment,” said Carlos Eduardo Belalcázar, Head of Mobility at Gases de Occidente.
“Valle del Cauca is becoming a pioneer in clean and environmentally friendly technologies in terms of special transportation. For many years, Gases de Occidente has been a promoter of the environment,” commented Pilar Rodríguez, General Manager of Gases de Occidente.
