Redexis, a comprehensive energy infrastructure company, has opened a new natural gas refueling station in Zaragoza. The facility is located at El Cisne Service Station, at kilometer 309 of the A-2 motorway, next to Plataforma Logística – Zaragoza (PLAZA), one of the largest logistics centers in Europe and the largest in the south of the continent.
It is a strategic location for the transport of goods through which more than 6,000 heavy vehicles circulate daily. Likewise, Zaragoza is a logistics hub that connects the main cities in Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia), and is an important connection point on road trips to France.
El Cisne station is part of Grupo Zoilo Ríos, which in recent years has made a constant commitment to sustainable mobility and the incorporation of renewable energies both in its offer and in its management model. In fact, those responsible are confident that this filling station will be able to offer 100% renewable gas in the near future.
The new facility allows the regular supply of both LNG for long-distance freight trucks and CNG for cars, vans and trucks; with refueling times between 3 minutes for cars and 8 minutes for heavy vehicles. Redexis made an investment close to one million euros to carry out the construction of the site.
Thanks to this new natural gas station in Zaragoza, together with the existing one at the Cooperativa de Taxis and Mercazaragoza, passenger and freight transport companies, company fleets and private cars will be able to access this more sustainable fuel.
Redexis continues with the objective of expanding the NGV refueling network in the country to contribute to a more sustainable and economic mobility of the Spanish transport system.
