United States: first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering takes place in Jacksonville

JAX LNG, a small-scale LNG facility near the St. Johns River, recently welcomed NYK LINE’s Sakura Leader for the ship’s inaugural call to Jacksonville. Sakura Leader offloaded cargo at the Jacksonville Port Authority’s Talleyrand Marine Terminal where JAX LNG completed its first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering of the Japanese vessel.

On top of immediate ground-breaking advances in terms of emission reduction and energy efficiency, MSC World Europa also paves the way towards the uptake of carbon-neutral synthetic and other alternative fuels as soon as they are available at scale.
