The vehicles are bodied on the 70C14 chassis and equipped with the super ecological CNG 3-liter engine developing 136 HP. They can carry 45 elementary and middle school children plus hostess and driver. All the school buses were purchased by Trotta as the winner of a part of the Roma Capitale tender which, specifically, rewarded deploying vehicles with low environmental impact.
The contract includes 200 buses of 10.4 meters with a capacity for 70 passengers, and 200 buses of 12 meters with a capacity for 90 passengers. All FOTON AUV buses will be equipped with a Cummins Euro V natural gas engine. The delivery must be in batches of 100 units in October and November 2022, and in January and February 2023.
Transportes Sul do Tejo acquired 17 new IVECO Crossway buses powered by natural gas, which are supplied daily at the Dourogás CNG Post in Palmela. The use of these vehicles replacing others powered by conventional fuels will prevent the emission of some 2,500 tons of CO2.
AUVASA’s new fleet, which involved an investment of around 6.6 million euros, includes seven 12-meter rigid buses and eight 18-meter articulated buses. All of them were manufactured by Solaris, are powered by natural gas and have a 320 CV engine subject to Euro E emission regulations.
