The group is expanding its alternative fuel capabilities by taking a majority stake in the UK-based expert in solutions to capture, repurpose and store fugitive methane emissions for energy use. In conjunction with CNH Industrial equipment, Bennamann’s infrastructure delivers a carbon negative system that fully supports a circular economy in farming.
Mobilizing the expertise of its founding members (CEVA Logistics, ENGIE and SANEF), the European Clean Transport Network Alliance envisions building and operating a network of strategically located truck terminals offering low-carbon refueling solutions, including biomethane and hydrogen, for the transportation of merchandise along Europe’s motorways.
Anaerobic digestion could deliver an additional benefit of 84-175 €/MWh of biomethane produced, while thermal gasification could deliver an additional 80-162 €/MWh. These benefits outweigh the current cost of producing biomethane through these technologies, according to a new report from the European Biogas Association (EBA).
The DOE has awarded $7.4 million to seven projects to develop medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicle charging and hydrogen corridor infrastructure plans that will benefit millions of drivers across 23 states. One of the selected initiatives is headed by the Gas Technology Institute: Houston to Los Angeles (H2LA)–I-10 Hydrogen Corridor Project.
During the FICCI conference: “Future of Mobility: India’s Journey towards Net Zero,” Nitin Gadkari underlined the steps taken by the government to facilitate the use of alternative fuel technologies such as bio-CNG, bio-LNG, electrics, hybrids, and hydrogen fuel cells, while constantly revising emission standards to reduce pollution.
Under the new name, the association looks forward to continuing the work with the EU, the industry, and the civil society to ensure that all use the full potential of gmobility. Bio-CNG and bio-LNG are the best-developed green transportation fuels available on the market and the fastest way to replace diesel in heavy-duty vehicles.
A recent paper, authored by Floris Goedhart, shows that by 2050 bio-LNG can reduce GHG emissions in the transport sector by 95% to 174%. This scenario is particularly encouraging for the maritime sector as it meets the target of 75% GHG emissions reduction by 2050 set in EU legislation. Bio-LNG is readily available for use at scale and with infrastructure in place.
Initially, it will be a two-year pilot starting in the first quarter of 2023, and its implementation will be with cargo trucks. The use of natural gas powered vehicles, as well as electrics and hybrids, are alternatives that some carriers have been implementing in the city. Therefore, the District wants to recognize those vehicle owners who have opted for these options.
The Roadmap was designed to deliver the Green Deal and achieve net zero CO2 emissions in commercial road transport with biomethane. To reach the Net Zero targets set by the EU, the share of biomethane has to be increased in line with the demand supplied to the heavy duty sector: blend rates of 55% by 2030, 75% by 2040 and 100% by 2050.
GASTEC, the major CNG company in Egypt, has largely contributed to develop the NGV infrastructure in Sharm El-Sheikh. It opened and operates five CNG stations in the city in order to avail the required fueling services to the fleets provided by operators and the city municipality as well as the private cars and taxies during the Conference.
