Wärtsilä will supply its biogas liquefaction technology to Scandinavian Biogas Mönsterås, a joint venture company between Scandinavian Biogas Fuels (SBF) and local farmers supplying manure and agricultural waste to the project. The new plant will produce 30 tons per day of bio-LNG, which will be used as transport fuel for heavy vehicles.
The LNG vehicles feature two tanks of 540 liters each and allow a range of up to 1,600 km. They are equipped with the most advanced fuel saving systems such as predictive GPS, intelligent auxiliary systems and the Smart EGR system. The cab design, optimized from an aerodynamic point of view, allows for a further reduction in fuel consumption of up to 4%.
With the implementation of the Strategic Public Transport System (SETP), with 130 natural gas buses, the Valledupar Integrated Transport System (SIVA) becomes a sustainable service that collaborates in the commitment of the Department of Cesar to be an energy power in the country and that thinks about the health of the community.
