The Puno Regional Government is committed to the widespread use of natural gas for vehicle use and will promote the installation of CNG refueling stations in the cities of Puno and Juliaca. To achieve the region’s access to natural gas, a framework agreement will be signed with the Ministry of Energy and Mines.
AUVASA’s new fleet, which involved an investment of around 6.6 million euros, includes seven 12-meter rigid buses and eight 18-meter articulated buses. All of them were manufactured by Solaris, are powered by natural gas and have a 320 CV engine subject to Euro E emission regulations.
This initiative will leverage on the development of the Italian LNG sector to encourage the progressive replacement of diesel and simultaneously boost the use of bio-LNG. The two companies share the vision in that LNG is the most solid and effective energy vector to decarbonize large scale transport by reducing the environmental impact through diesel replacement.
