The first integrated industrial CNG compression, transport and decompression project in Mexico has been running successfully for 10 years. The initiative was conceptualized and developed by Promotora Energética E3 for Hortícola Cimarrón and has Canadian technology from IMW.
Hortícola Cimarrón facilities are located in the municipality of San Felipe, State of Guanajuato. They have a compression area, a decompression area, a boiler area, a greenhouse, and a selection and packing area. The company has been a pioneer in the use of CNG for self-consumption.
“We use CNG as the main input to heat the boilers and greenhouses. The benefit is greater in terms of costs with respect to the LPG that we used before,” said the General Director of Hortícola Cimarrón, Engineer Jorge Luis Aldrett Lee.
Regarding the experience with the IMW brand, it has been extremely good for the company, since it is a project developed for self-consumption. With the increasing use of CNG in Mexico, IMW is expanding its presence and infrastructure in the country.
“Since natural gas pipelines are very limited in Mexico, I believe that these types of projects have a great development potential, since all of us who use gas in our processes can have great savings by using CNG,” added Aldrett Lee.
“This is a success story of one of our clients. Thank you very much to our friends at Hortícola Cimarrón who trusted us,” commented Andrés Bayona Insignares, CEO of Promotora Energética E3.
