The new facility will produce biomethane with agricultural waste from local farms and supply Vulcangas. The bio-LNG will be used to fuel the NGVs in GLS Italy’s fleet, which includes IVECO S-WAY LNG trucks. Biomethane is currently the only mature technology that provides a solution with no compromise on performance and refueling times compared to diesel.

This is the first of 19 filling stations part of an agreement between Clean Energy and Amazon; the remaining facilities should be operational by the end of the year, expanding Clean Energy’s network of 550 stations. By dispensing 700,000 gallons of bio-CNG annually instead of diesel, the station will reduce carbon emissions by 6,848 metric tons.
