After adding eight new natural gas refueling points in three European countries (Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands), OnTurtle has now reached one hundred filling stations. The company ended 2021 with 43 more refueling stations compared to the previous year, 16 of which were LNG and CNG refueling stations (up by 36.36% compared to 2020). In total, they had 90 natural gas refueling points at the end of last year.
Since 2022 began, OnTurtle added 10 more filling stations. The last eight have reinforced its refueling service in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. First came stations in Rekkem and Hognoul (Belgium), Hirschberg (Germany), Zwolle and Deventer (the Netherlands) thanks to an agreement with the supplier Pitpoint.
These strategic facilities were soon joined by Antwerp (Belgium) and Alsfed (Germany). Last May, the 100th filling station was finally added. Emleben (Germany) is supplied by LIQVIS and, like the others, has LNG available and is adapted for Volvo trucks.
The geopolitical context of recent months has seriously affected energy prices, and natural gas has been no exception. Even so, LNG is positioning itself as the most sustainable alternative for long-distance professional transport. Indeed, the fleet of NGVs continues to grow.
OnTurtle’s commitment to sustainability kicked off as early as 2018 with the opening of the first natural gas station in their international network. Now they operate 100 refueling points for NGVs strategically located in six European countries: 31 in France, 27 in Spain, 22 in Germany, 11 in Belgium, 8 in the Netherlands and 1 in Italy.
“As a benchmark partner for freight mobility in Europe, OnTurtle has a network that demonstrates our commitment to more environmentally-friendly professional transport and a clear intention of supplying our customers along their routes in Europe,” said the company in a press release.
Wolftank and Molgas join forces to build LNG and hydrogen stations in Europe
Wolftank Group has signed a cooperation agreement with Molgas Energia Italia. Wolftank Group develops and implements state-of-the-art technologies as well as infrastructure solutions for zero-emission mobility, including the delivery of turnkey, modular hydrogen and LNG refueling facilities; while Molgas is a strong Southern European player in the energy services sector distributing LNG and delivering it to places not reached by gas pipelines.
The two companies plan to jointly establish a double-digit number of LNG and hydrogen refueling stations in European markets. The initial target areas are Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Austria and Slovakia.
“To enable sustainable mobility across all regions, there is an urgent demand for the necessary infrastructure. In this respect, there is a massive catch-up need throughout Europe. Through our cooperation, we want to make renewable energies more widely available. As a technology partner of Molgas, we contribute with our decades of expertise in the construction of hydrogen and LNG refueling facilities”, said Peter Werth, CEO of the Wolftank Group.
The cooperation with Molgas is a next, important step in Wolftank Group’s expansion strategy. With strong partnerships, most recently with the leading Italian telecom provider TIM, with SFC Energy, the Q8 Group, the gas supplier Snam, as well as through the acquisition of 50% of the Italian company Mares, the Group is consistently expanding its positioning in the field of renewable energies.
