Marcotran Logistics, a group company specializing in groupage, distribution and storage, has added three new IVECO S-Way tractors that run on LNG. With this acquisition, Marcotran’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in freight transport is reinforced.
The new IVECO LNG trucks offer up to 800 kilometers of autonomy and numerous advantages in terms of sustainability and efficiency. By using natural gas as fuel, a significant reduction in CO2 emissions is achieved, as well as a reduction in particulate and NOx emissions. This translates into a lower environmental impact and contributes to improving air quality in the areas where Marcotran operate, especially in services carried out in urban areas, as will be the case with these trucks.
These vehicles- equipped with hooks to load waste containers- will be used locally, including the province of Zaragoza, where they will be in charge of transporting containers from the collection points to the recycling plant.
Following the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Global Compact, Marcotran works to minimize the impact of its activity in different areas, the environmental being very important given the nature of the activity. For this reason, the use of this type of more sustainable trucks in a recycling operation has a greater meaning and marks a milestone in the search for the achievement of said objectives.
