The Camisea Consortium, operated by Pluspetrol, announced the execution of the “Corredor Camisea GNL,” a new project that seeks to contribute to the efforts of widespread adoption of natural gas in Peru, this time in the transport of heavy cargo that circulates in the south of the country. The initiative will be carried out through an agreement with Limagas Natural.
In addition to celebrating the production of the 2.5 millionth engine at its Jamestown Engine Plant (JEP), the company announced the investment of $452 million into the JEP facility, to produce the industry’s first fuel-agnostic internal combustion engine platform that leverages a range of lower carbon fuel types, including natural gas.
Natural gas motor fuel is once again equitably taxed in the State of Indiana relative to traditional motor fuels. Passage of House Bill 23-1454 ensures that state taxes on natural gas motor fuel will be calculated based on the diesel gallon equivalent actually sold at the fueling dispenser. The discrepancy first arose in 2015.
