Scania Argentina doubles driving range of its line of CNG vehicles

During the 2023 edition of Expoagro, Scania Argentina presented the new back-of-cab natural gas storage system, from Hexagon Agility, which will allow to double the autonomy in the CNG vehicles of the Green Efficiency line. With this addition, a 6×2 truck can reach a range of 790 km, while a 4×2 can travel 900 km.

Despite their large dimensions (6.36 m long, 2.15 wide and 3.26 high), the two new CNG vehicles have high mobility and great performance in the task of mechanical sweeping. Ohra Energie has placed a new order for which Lower Saxony-based EnviTec Biogas will implement its innovative gas upgrading technology as a single-stage process for the first time. The initiative encompasses a single-stage gas upgrading plant that is operated with only five SEPURAN® Green Membranes. The purified methane is then fed directly to the CNG station.

The mega order consists of 800 buses in total, including 300 Yuwei E12 (ZK6126BEVG) buses and 500 CNG buses (ZK6116HG and ZK6126HG), setting a new record for China’s export of buses to Uzbekistan. The vehicles will be delivered to Tashkent, the country’s capital, to help Uzbekistan lead the low-carbon transformation of public transport in Central Asia.
