This marks another important step forward in DHL Parcel UK’s decarbonization plans and Deutsche Post DHL Group’s commitment to achieve net-zero emissions logistics by 2050. Converting the DHL fleet for pick-up, delivery and linehauls to sustainable energy solutions is an important lever in this.
The project includes the installation of an electrolysis plant powered by 100% renewable energy at the old Meirama thermal power plant in Cerceda. The green hydrogen will be used by the Repsol refinery in A Coruña, as well as in other industries, in injection into the gas network to be mixed with natural gas and in mobility.
VoltaGrid will acquire substantially all assets of Pilot’s CNG compression, CNG mobile pipeline and CNG logistics platform. Through the acquisition, which builds off a well-developed relationship that the two companies formed in 2020, VoltaGrid will become the largest vertically integrated portable power generation and clean fuels platform in North America.
