The project will be rolled out in phases. The first phase, comprising 21 CNG stations, will support intra-city transportation and be ready by the first quarter of 2024; while the second phase, with 35 facilities, will support inter-city transportation and will be ready by late 2024. The conversion and assembly work at Germany’s largest integrated bio-LNG plant with bio-CO2 liquefaction has just been completed. Once in operation, due late summer this year, the plant will produce 25,000 kg of bio-LNG daily for heavy-duty transport vehicles. This will provide green fuel for more than 50,000,000 truck kilometers (31,068,550 miles) per year.

The current global fleet of 355 LNG-fueled vessels, excluding LNG carriers, are all capable of using bio-LNG as drop-in fuel without any modification. Bio-LNG can also be transported, stored and bunkered in ports using the existing LNG infrastructure, which provides a route to further expansion of its availability in coming years, according to SEA-LNG.
The key modules that will allow the construction of the first bio-LNG production plant in Chile are already being manufactured in Europe, a real contribution to the decarbonization of cargo transport. With an investment of more than USD8 million, the facility will be located in the Ñuble Region with capacity to process between 7,500 and 16,500 m3 of biogas per day.
Coregas announced the opening of Australia’s first hydrogen refueling station for heavy transport. Construction of the $2 million facility has been assisted by a $500,000 NSW Government grant. It is located alongside Coregas’ existing hydrogen production plant and transport hub for bulk hydrogen in Port Kembla.
