The new facility will produce biomethane with agricultural waste from local farms and supply Vulcangas. The bio-LNG will be used to fuel the NGVs in GLS Italy’s fleet, which includes IVECO S-WAY LNG trucks. Biomethane is currently the only mature technology that provides a solution with no compromise on performance and refueling times compared to diesel.
Return-It has added three CNG-electric hybrid compaction trucks to its transportation network – a move that drives the organization closer to the goal of decarbonizing various areas of operations. The new vehicles will lower GHG emissions from beverage container transportation by up to 25% while at the same time reducing the number of vehicles on the road.
The new facility, located in the Ñuble region, will have a capacity to process between 7,500 and 16,500 m3 of biogas per day. This will allow to reduce more than 19,000 tons of CO2 per year, 96% of fine particle emissions and 85% of nitrogen oxide and sulfur emissions in the heavy transport sector, compared to other fuels.
NGV America and RNG Coalition announced that 98% of all on-road fuel used in NGVs in California in 2021 was renewable natural gas. According to data from the CARB, the annual average carbon intensity score of bio-CNG in that mix was -44.4 gCO2e/MJ. Biomethane use as a transportation fuel in the state grew 163% over the last five years.
With its filling stations, Rolande makes an important contribution to the currently existing LNG network in the country, which currently includes 135 public stations (according to the German Energy Agency DENA). The company also acts as an important partner for transport companies that want to switch to CNG+, LNG or bio-LNG.
The city has 19 new NGVs that will provide service on Emvarias’ routes and will help advance in the transition of its fleet to more ecological units. With these new trucks, Medellín already has 42 of the plan of 62 CNG vehicles expected to enter service this year and that will allow the city to go from two to three days of waste collection starting in 2023.
This will contribute to increasing the number of beneficiaries from the initiative, maximizing the efforts of green transformation and enabling citizens to own new NGVs instead of cars that are more than 20 years old. As many as 23,730 vehicles have been allocated and more than 23,447 old cars have been scrapped as part of the project.
Chevron U.S.A. Inc. and CalBio announced a joint investment in their second holding company to produce and market dairy biomethane as a renewable natural gas transportation fuel in California. At signing, the holding company, CalBioGas Hilmar LLC, secured initial funding from Chevron to build infrastructure for biomethane projects in Merced County.
The initiative is an action by Ambipar that brings safe and intelligent mobility to chemical products transport operations for Dow. In the first year of circulation of the new Scania R 410 6X2 CNG trucks, which will be used on the transport routes between Dow and Whirpool, Ambipar estimates a 20% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions in the Corridor.
Gaussin and Lhyfe will study the possibility of developing a comprehensive renewable mobility solution combining the H2 vehicles of Gaussin and the green H2 produced by Lhyfe. The partnership also includes a commercial component aimed at identifying potential customers, in France and abroad, likely to be interested in this solution for logistics, port and airport sites.
