Peru: Cálidda recommends switching to CNG as vehicle fuel, due to shortage of LPG

Due to the shortage of LPG, recorded in recent days at the national level and which is mainly affecting the pockets of users, Cálidda suggested drivers to convert their vehicles to the natural gas “because it is cheaper and abundant.” There are 300 CNG stations throughout Peru, in addition to 150 authorized conversion workshops.

Colombia surpasses 10,000 NGV conversions in the first half of 2023

According to a new report from NATURGAS, between January and July 2023, 10,304 vehicle conversions were achieved in Colombia, 31% more than in the same period in 2022. CNG has already surpassed two decades of development since its arrival in 2000 and, to date, has reached more than 645,000 conversions and more than 4,500 new dedicated NGVs.

The company trialed the use of biomethane in a heavy goods vehicle as part of its ongoing drive to reach net zero by 2050. The three week-long trial was carried out in June and July this year at Tarmac’s Tunstead site in partnership with CNG Fuels, and tested the range of a 44 ton truck hauling a bulk cement tanker.
