The L’Oréal Group in Brazil signed a contract with Gás Verde for the delivery of 3.6 million cubic meters of biomethane, which will be used to supply 100% of the company’s dedicated fleet. The new facility will be located next to the Gaia Distribution Center, the second largest of the Group in Latin America.
The new facility is strategically located near the Pulaski Industrial Area and provides heavy-duty truck fleets access to a low carbon, sustainable fuel in the busy east coast trucking corridor. It includes four fast-fill dispensers for easy in-and-out fueling of biomethane; private time-fill hoses for up to 156 trucks,
The dispenser can refuel a truck with 400m3 cylinders in an average record time of 8 minutes, depending on the capacity of the compressor. It is equipped with four hoses, two with “high flow valve and NGV1 nozzle” and two with low flow, which makes it an efficient resource for refueling both private cars and heavy transport.
Gas Networks Ireland and Virginia International Logistics have taken another step forward in reducing emissions from local transport industry – one of the most difficult sectors to decarbonize – with the opening of Ireland’s eighth CNG and bio-CNG station. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by the Minister Heather Humphreys.
This is the 13th public access bio-CNG station operated by ReFuels in the UK under the CNG Fuels brand. It features 12 fuel pump islands, allowing more than 500 trucks to be refueled per day with a total capacity of 25 million kilograms of bio-CNG annually. It is located in Parc Bryn Cegin, just off Junction 11, North Wales Expressway
The Urban Logistics Operational Management of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires carried out a study to evaluate the operation of a CNG-powered public waste collection service truck, with the objective of move towards a sustainable and environmentally friendly freight transportation.
The company has received 25 units and expects to get the rest during the next year. These LNG-powered trucks offer the same performance and drivability as their diesel models. They can be used in regional and long-haul heavy transport operations. With the new 225 kg tank and the new 500 HP engine, autonomy is increased by between 10%-14%.
Under the brand “Master Gas”, the project was carried out by TAQA Dalbit, a joint venture between TAQA Arabia and JCG Oil & Gas, with the focus of investing, developing, building and operating service stations and workshops to convert and refuel cars with natural gas. The new facility will be able to serve up to 800 vehicles daily.
“With this acquisition, we continue to add actions to improve the quality of the air we breathe by reducing CO2 emissions into the environment, it reduces its carbon footprint and also generates savings of more than 52% for the company in fuel costs,” Surtigas said in a statement.
With the aim of reducing times and costs for companies, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism reported that the import procedures for cylinders for the storage of CNG were incorporated into the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE as its Spanish acronym), a ministry’s foreign trade facilitation tool.
