Scale Gas has received funding from the Spanish Ministry of Transport to boost the construction of a bunkering vessel for the supply of LNG and bio-LNG in the Canary Islands. This project, ‘Net Zero hive Canarias,’ is part of the ‘Net Zero hive’ initiative promoted by Enagás in its commitment to sustainability and to promote decarbonization in the maritime sector.
The Toyota Glanza as well as the Urban Cruiser Hyryder model line-up will be available with a CNG variant in the S and G grades. This introduction will further enable the company to enhance its range of sustainable vehicle technology offerings, as well as offer more eco-friendly and economical options for customers to choose from.
OPAL Fuels and NextEra Energy Marketing put into operation the first landfill renewable natural gas production facility in Minnesota. The Pine Bend RNG Project is located at a landfill owned by Republic Services and interconnected with a pipeline owned by Xcel Energy, the leading electric and gas utility in the region.
This plant will be able to produce some 15,900 cubic meters of bio-LNG, which represents 25% of the fuel that is supplied annually to the ships that bunker in Barcelona. The production of biomethane will be possible thanks to the transformation of between 50,000 and 60,000 tons of organic waste per year.
Lipigas plans to invest US$2.5 million in 2023 to develop the first LNG stations for long-distance transportation in Peru. The investment is part of the company’s experience in the use of LNG in heavy trucks in Chile and the possibilities offered by the decision of the successive governments of Peru to promote the use of locally-produced natural gas.

China’s shipbuilding industry has made great progress in recent years, scaling up its value chains to more advanced ships powered by clean fuels such as LNG.
GASTEC, the major CNG company in Egypt, has largely contributed to develop the NGV infrastructure in Sharm El-Sheikh. It opened and operates five CNG stations in the city in order to avail the required fueling services to the fleets provided by operators and the city municipality as well as the private cars and taxies during the Conference.
This facility is the result of a strong partnership between Trillium and the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works. It will be operated and maintained by Trillium and support 560 of the 748 buses the county operates, a bus wash and chassis lift for the county’s use, as well as a CNG fueling point open to the public.
The four Urbino 12 hydrogen buses will serve the residents of Venice and its surroundings thanks to contracts signed with Italian carriers AVM Venezia and ACTV SPA Venezia. The deliveries of the low-floor vehicles are slated for the end of the second quarter of 2023, and the value of the contracts exceeds €2.5 million.
