Bakken Energy, an innovative developer of affordable clean hydrogen supply, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with each of Cummins Inc. and Schneider National Carriers Inc., to work together on the design of the Heartland Hydrogen Hub to serve the needs of long-haul trucking.

Still, they missed the opportunity to give a strong positive signal to the biomethane value chain by setting maximum distance-based targets also for the biomethane compatible refueling infrastructure.
The subsidiary of Hexagon Composites will supply its natural gas fuel systems, which will be powered by renewable fuel, to important heavy-duty vehicle fleet in North America. The orders represent an estimated value of USD 27.1 million. Deliveries of the fuel systems are scheduled to start Q1 2023.
Regarding the NGV sector, in the period 2017-2021, the country had a year-on-year increase of 3% in the number of vehicles converted to natural gas. In 2021 alone, the significant figure of 20,500 units was reached. 16 years after the first conversion, Peru registered 326,000 CNG vehicles and 344 filling stations last year.
The TNGVGP program provides vehicle grants to replace heavy-duty or medium-duty vehicles with natural gas (CNG and LNG) vehicles or repower them with natural gas engines. Applicants may qualify for up to 90% of the cost to replace or repower their eligible vehicle.
The National Bank for Economic and Social Development will finance the construction of a biogas and electricity plant from biodegradable waste. CRI GEO Biogás is building the plant in the State of São Paulo. The biomethane produced will replace the diesel consumed by CRI GEO Biogás fleet, in addition to being marketed to industries that currently use fossil fuels.
The new 18-meter, biomethane compatible, URBANWAY Hybrid Natural Gas is also available in a BRT option under the name CREALIS. As with the 12-m long version, the hybrid solution featured in the articulated URBANWAY includes a 48 V battery coupled to the DIWA NXT gearbox and the proven Cursor 9 engine.
The new S-Presso S-CNG is powered by a Next Gen K-series 1.0L Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine, offering unmatched fuel-efficiency and refinement. This engine develops a peak power output of 41.7kW (56.69 PS)@5300RPM and max torque of 82.1Nm@3400RPM in CNG mode. Available with a 5-speed manual gearbox, it delivers an excellent fuel-efficiency of 32.73 km/kg.
The facility will produce 200,000 tons of biofuel per year. The bulk of the bio-LNG produced will be supplied to the LNG-powered vessels of Titan’s launching customer. For the remaining volumes, truck refueling stations and industrial customers are within scope. The project also involves BioValue and Linde Engineering.
This pilot project will allow Copetran to implement clean energy in its fleets and be a pioneer in the use of new propulsion technologies. The tests, which begin with a CNG bus that will initially cover a private route, will serve to gather important information for the next massive adoption of this green fuel.
