Argentina: Bariloche successfully completes trial of CNG Scania refuse truck

The vehicle, part of the brand’s Green Efficiency Line, was tested for a month in real operating conditions to collect garbage in the Patagonian city. Since tourism is the main economic activity of the city, waste collection is an essential activity that the Municipality must optimize from all factors. The trial was completed through Scania’s DemoTrucks program.

The initiative is the result from an agreement between the Madrid Municipal Transport Company (EMT) and the Environment and Mobility Area through the Valdemingómez Technology Park, and will allow to supply at least 6 Gwh of biomethane to EMT’s CNG fleet in one year. This volume would serve to annually supply a line with a provision of about 20 buses.
